1. Being a perfectionist and a control freak

You must be aware of the fact that nothing is perfect and it probably never be. Even the most perfect plans must have some setbacks. But, as long as you reach the goal, it doesn’t really matter. Also, you have to embrace the fact that you can’t control everything. Some things will be out of your control and you will have to find a way around them. 2. Spending free time on social media platforms

Social media platforms are literally devouring our time. It is so easy to get addicted. This is valuable time that you have in one day, so you should spend it wisely. You could learn some new skills, read a book, or simply rest, instead of staring at a screen for hours without gaining anything back.

3. Negative thinking

When you stumble on the road to your goal, it is so easy to fall into a trap of negative thinking. But you must resist this urge because it will drag you down. It will poison your mind and you will get off the road completely. So, it is crucial to cut these negative thoughts in their root, at the very second they appear. You have to find the balance between being pessimistic and optimistic. Keep in mind that when it comes to people, stay away from the negative and toxic people because they will hold you back.

4. Living an unhealthy life

Yes, as you might have guessed, an unhealthy lifestyle is holding you back. And you know what this means – eating, sleeping, and exercising. You have to eat healthy food, have a healthy sleeping pattern, and exercise regularly in order to achieve your goals. Leading unhealthy life will blur your reasoning.

5. Pleasing people

Simply, it is a waste of time and not many people will appreciate what you do for them. We try to please people because we think it will make them like us. But, no matter how hard you try, there will always be people who don’t like you. So, don’t sweat it too much. Instead, focus on your goals, and help others only when it doesn’t compromise you.

6. Seeking validation or blaming others

You need to make decisions that are right for you at the given moment, and not those that will be approved by other people. In relation to that, you have to take accountability for your decisions. No matter if they are good or bad, they are your decisions and you have done your best to make them.

7. Being envious and comparing yourself to others

Envy is a waste of time. Many people envy others for their success. But, instead of wasting your energy on envy, you can use it to actually learn something from them. If they are successful, find out what they are doing right. But, keep in mind that you should never compare yourself to others. Everybody has their own individual path to success. Not everyone has the same environment on that path. Just aspire to become a better and more successful version of yourself.
